U10 Evaluations will be held on Sunday, March 8 at 4:00 pm at Farmer Jim's (2971 Niles Cortland Rd NE, Cortland, OH 44410). Evaluations will last approximately one hour and are mandatory for all U10
players to attend. According to our by-laws if travel players are
unable to make the tryouts, they will automatically make the second team
(in this case, players would automatically make the Lawrence County
team). Please note that evaluations of each child will be conducted by
a group of outside evaluators (U10 coaches are there to observe but not

U10 Boys team (Head Coach: Al Johnston)- will play Division 5/6 which is primarily against teams north of the Shenango Valley. Games will be held on Sundays.Practices will be held Tuesdays (5:30-7:00), Thursdays (5:30-7:00) and Fridays (5:30-7:30). Please note that the team goalkeeper(s) will start practice at 5:00 on Tuesdays and Thursdays for specialized training.
U10 Lawrence County team (we are in need of a head coach and assistant coaches for this team - if you are willing to be a coach, please let me know)- will play on Saturdays in the Lawrence County league. This means teams such as Laurel, Wilmington, Mohawk, etc. We will let those players know about official practice days once we have the head coach in place. However, please note that one day of practices will definitely be Fridays (5:30-7:30).
Equipment Needed for tryouts: shinguards and indoor soccer shoes must be worn (tennis shoes are permissible if you do not have indoor shoes);
bring a size 4 soccer ball.

Players on this team will be required to commit to playing in 4 tournaments in addition to the regular season of games. All tournament fees and potential hotel costs are the responsibility of the player (you will be required to sign a statement regarding this commitment before evaluations occur). Practices will be held Tuesdays (6-8), Thursdays (6-8) and Fridays (5:30-7:30). Additionally, scrimmages will be held on at least 4 Saturday afternoons during the season.
U12 Girls team (Head Coach: BJ Rudge)- will play Division 5/6 which is primarily against teams North of the Shenango Valley. Players on this team will be required to commit to playing in the Edinboro tournament in June and one other tournament to be determined. All tournament fees and potential hotel costs are the responsibility of the player. Practices will be held Tuesdays (6-7:30), Fridays (5:30-7:30) and Saturdays (10-11:30). While the winter weather is still upon us, the practices on Tuesdays and Saturdays will be held at First Assembly of God gym located at 1455 North Keel Ridge Road Hermitage, PA 16148.
U12 Co-ed team (we are in need of a head coach and assistant coaches for this team - if you are willing to be a coach, please let me know)- will play Division 5/6 which is primarily against teams North of the Shenango Valley. Please note that if your player is unable to commit to the requirements of the U12 boys team or the U12 girls team, then you can request to have your child automatically placed on this team.

Friday nights: Please note that SVSC has contracted with UK International to have 4 international trainers work with our travel players one night a week during the season. This will count as one of your child's official practice nights. Due to the cost of bringing in this international group of trainers, we are asking that all travel players make a $20 contribution for this amazing training. The $20 can be paid to me at the evaluations on March 8. These practices will be held every Friday night from 5:30 to 7:30 (check out the UK international website at www.uksoccer.com).
